After the round 10 sprint race, the gap in the Drivers’ championship was reduced to just one point. However, on Sunday, Vesti managed to build up the gap again with a spectacular performance in the feature race.
The penultimate round before the summer break witnessed several thrilling battles and outstanding drives. Ayumu Iwasa ensured he wasn't excluded from the championship conversation, securing a strong P2 finish with the fastest lap in the sprint race. Crucially outscoring championship leader Vesti. Pourchaire also made significant progress in the Sprint and secured P4, narrowly missing out on a podium after an intense battle with Bearman. He managed to close the gap to 1 point on his championship rival and former teammate, Vesti.

Over on the other side of the ART garage, Victor Martins continued to impress with his strong qualifying and podium performances. He narrowly missed his third consecutive pole position on Friday but secured his 7th podium of the season, matching the achievement of his teammate and the championship leader.
The man who outperformed Martins in both qualifying and the race was Jack Doohan, the Invicta Virtuosi Driver. He became only the second driver to achieve a grand chelem in Formula 2, dominating the feature race and winning by just under 10 seconds ahead of Vesti. With his newfound rhythm, he could become a formidable force in the remaining rounds of the season. All eyes are on him at Spa this weekend.

Unfortunately, it was a forgettable weekend for the Campos duo. Boschung was taken out of the race by an oncoming Novalak at turn one, and the duo struggled with their race pace, dropping to the bottom of the grid on Sunday. However, their promising one-lap pace gives hope that they can make significant progress in the right direction at Spa and maximize the car's potential.

Throughout this article, one man consistently stood out - Frederik Vesti. Despite missing out on points in the Saturday sprint, he showcased his championship leadership in the feature race. Fighting off Martins throughout the event, he secured the second step of the podium and, crucially, widened the gap with his championship rival by 11 points.
